Emperor Carbon artwork

Emperor Carbon

Oil on MDF

£300 350 x 400

This is thought about the evolving disaster that fracking and the extraction of carbon fuels is causing. As a boy I went fishing in the Zambesi Valley in Africa. This memory sometimes haunts me because at that time I was unaware of a crocodile just below me, as I sat on a dead tree over the pool. In this painting, Emperor Carbon wears the last green leaves as laurels, as the landscape lies desolate, dry and dying. Nature’s response is shown by the creature below. She guards her brood of eggs.
